◎泡瀬干潟はどんなところ？
沖縄本島東海岸に奇跡のように残された美しく楽しい干潟です。訪ねるたびに生きものたちのドラマに出会える生きた博物館です。カニの大行進、群れ飛ぶ渡り鳥、泳ぐ小ダコ、貝の見事な砂茶碗、そよぐ海草藻場、サンゴ群落、魚、貝、ナマコ、ヒトデなど生きものたちの楽園です。ずさんな環境アセス後、新種や貴重種の発見が連続し、絶滅危惧種が百数十種も記録されています。美味しい貝や海藻もいっぱい採れます。詳細は、泡瀬干潟を守る連絡会ホームページ (//www.awase.net)をご覧下さい。
◎埋め立て計画はどんなもの？
国（内閣府沖縄総合事務局）と沖縄県の約650億円の埋め立て事業。典型的なムダな公共事業。国が土砂捨て場として利用し貴重なサンゴ群落や生きものたちを埋め殺すだけ。地元、沖縄市が埋め立て地にホテルやマリーナや人工ビーチを計画。しかし、希望するホテルは無く実現性はゼロ。県のお目付役の外部監査人もこの埋め立て事業計画の見直しを報告しましたが、県は無視して工事続行。地元沖縄市民への各種アンケートでも埋め立て反対が圧倒的多数です。
This is urgent mail for asking you to help me to save
AWASE.
Awase is the name of the tidalflat in Okinawa city. And
there is a feritile tideland which has one of the richest
biodiversity in Japan. There are so many endemic and
indegenous species, from seaweed to corals, and therefore
it
helps Okinawan aliment culture. You can always meet a lot
of people who are fishing and digging clams there. New
marine breeds are discovered every year and the
environments surely has a value to be identify as world
natural heritage site.
However, Awase is now facing to the danger of landfill by
Japanese government and Okinawa prefecture. The puzzling
thing is that, there is no institutional program at all,
we
can sadly say this is meaningless landfill. Even the
government and prefecture will set expenses off against
our
tax, they did not have much conversation or explanation
for the people of the city and prefecture.
Now, citizen group have their back against to the wall and
doing sit-in protest as last resort. Now, the mayor of
Okinawa city who once against the landfill project but was
persuaded to accept the project, said she wanted to have
conversation with and listen to opinions of the citizen
group
called "Save Awase".
Therefore, we launch a signature campaign to stop
construction and save Awase. I attached a form below
so please take a look at it ! And ask people who support
our
activity!!!
